Word to your mother

So, this is the new layout. Howie Day!!!!! Anyways, movable type and I are still in the process of getting acquainted, so maybe this front page will look better in a couple of days.

edit: I think I’m okay with how everything looks now. Hope it doesn’t look too disorganized.

Does anyone else just love

Does anyone else just love those HBO commercials? You know: this spark, this fire, this imagination, etc. I think it’s the background music that gets me. It just makes you feel uplifted. Well, that’s about all I have to post about, except that I’m trying to figure out Movable Type and hope to be MT powered after Christmas. It’s just the comment program that I use takes wayyyyy too long to load, and I’m getting sick of it.

Ahhhh, the beginning of Christmas

Ahhhh, the beginning of Christmas break. Arguably my favorite day of the entire year. You have the whole break ahead of you- full of possibilities and fun things to do. I even thought about all the things I could do over the break. Yes, I am aware that only a handful of these things will actually take place, but it’s always nice to plan. One thing I have to do is redesign The Buffy Bash, which has just been sitting there for a while. I had a layout that I was going to do a while ago, but because I didn’t put it up right away, I got sick of it. But I think I finally have one that I like (crosses fingers). It’s funny that I can come up with all these designs for my sites in a couple of minutes, but The Buffy Bash takes for.ev.er.

Heh. I watched The Music Man today in band class during the exam. It’s funny that years and years ago when that movie was made, a pool hall was the big concern with the corruption of teenagers. Haha. A pool hall.

Okay, I've kept you guys

Okay, I’ve kept you guys in suspense long enough. Here are the answers. Say what you want about my glasses.

1. I’ve met the drummer from Sawyer Brown: TRUE. Hmmm, no one really questioned this one. Well, his name is Joe and he came to one of my percussion practices last year.

2. I don’t like hamburgers: TRUE. Yeah, hamburgers are nasty, nasty, nasty.

3. I go to the same dentist as Alan Jackson: TRUE. Yes, this is very much true. And as my father pointed out, I have his autograph as well.

4. I have glasses, but only wear them for bowling: TRUE. Wow. I cannot believe this is the one that everyone thought was false. Yes, my mother makes jokes about me not wearing them, but they’re the only thing I make sure that I bring my glasses too. I guess should have phrased this one better and put and to the movies on there, but I don’t go that much anymore, so it didn’t seem significant.

5. I have never correctly pronounced the word “fennel.”: TRUE. Ever since the kind ladies at The Viking introduced this to me, I have never been able to say it right. I came back and told everyone that I chopped up “finnelle” and nobody knew what I was talking about.

6. The first thing I ever cooked was vanilla cake: FALSE. Erica was right on with this one. This is the false fact. The first thing I ever cooked was actually cornbread, but only my mother would remember something like that.

7. For a writing contest about a family memory, I made up a completely fictional story about my grandfather: TRUE. Sadly, this one is true. Besides our humor, my family is pretty dull and we lack in traditions. So I made up a story about one.

8. I received an honorable mention in that contest: TRUE. When the teachers told me at school, I knew I couldn’t go home and tell my mother about it because she would ask me to tell her the story. Heh.

9. My school binder is covered with David Duchovny collages: TRUE. My friends make fun of me. “He’s so old!” “Ewww, he’s like… married!” I get a lot of crap for having a crush on David Duchovny. Oh well.

10. I’ve seen Lorrie Morgan in concert. She was quite good: TRUE. Hmmm, no one had anything to say about this one either. Guess there aren’t a lot of country music fans reading my site.

So, I remember doing one

So, I remember doing one of these “ten things about me” lists a year or so ago, but I remember that the response wasn’t that big, but since the invention of comments, I think maybe I’ll get more replies this time.

So here’s how it works, below is a list of 10 facts about me. 9 of them are true. One of them is wrong. So just post in the comments which one you think isn’t true about me.

1. I’ve met the drummer from Sawyer Brown.

2. I don’t like hamburgers.

3. I go to the same dentist as Alan Jackson.

4. I have glasses, but only wear them for bowling.

5. I have never correctly pronounced the word “fennel.”

6. The first thing I ever cooked was vanilla cake.

7. For a writing contest about a family memory, I made up a completely fictional story about my grandfather.

8. I received an honorable mention in that contest.

9. My school binder is covered with David Duchovny collages.

10. I’ve seen Lorrie Morgan in concert. She was quite good.

I've been a little busy

I’ve been a little busy with my sites of late. I updated Crush and Reese.Nu on Tuesday, and I updated Neon (gasp!) yesterday. I also have a new layout for Neon that I’m working on and should be up by tomorrow if all possible.

I’m about to get busy at The Viking. I’m helping out with 2 gingerbread house classes and a “teen cuisine” class, all over the next three weeks. I’m curious as to how I’ll be able to balance the Christmas Parade, The Viking, finishing my house design storyboard, my social life (or lack there of), babysitting, the Christmas concert, bowling practice, getting\baking presents for everyone, convincing my father to shave his goatee, and studying for exams. Whew. I have a lot of stuff to do…

Oh, and could someone please explain to me the appeal of Josh Hartnett?

Went and did a little

Went and did a little practice bowling today. My lowest score was a 156 and I averaged about 163! That’s pretty good for me. Anyways, these were my scores: 157, 168, 156, 160, and 176. Whew. The path to a spot on a professional bowling tour is a little brighter…

My father is trying to grow a goatee. My father really isn’t the goatee type. I’m a little scared, but have managed to make a few jokes about it already.

Blah. Downloading mp3's is a

Blah. Downloading mp3′s is a pain. You think for someone with a cable modem it would go faster. Not true. All the songs that you really want to listen to come from the computers of dial-up connections. I was about ready to give up and delete the unfinished ones when my Harry Conick JR one came out of the queue. And then I lasped into yet more waiting because my computer is useless when it comes to doing other things while downloading mp3′s. Sigh. Was that Aladdin song really worth the 23 minute wait?
