Word to band camp

Yeah. I’ll be back next Saturday.

Word to stealing

Hahahahahaha. I just love these “music industry people” who are trying to take down all the college kids who are sharing music. First off, I think it’s hilarious that they’re targeting college kids, when everyone shares music. Oh, and I was just in hysterics when I heard that a college discontinued high-speed internet from their dormitories. Oooooooooh! I’m wicked scared now! Okay, so the extremely rich celebrity musicians aren’t making as much money as before. Boooohoooo. Cry me a river. WHEN will these people realize that the entire point of the internet is to do illegal things legally. C’mon!

ETA: am I crazy, or does the new guy on Road Rules (Chris) look like Russell Crowe?

Word to Harry Potter

So I finally finished that book that everyone finished about a month ago. Yes, you are very right in thinking that I’m talking about Harry Potter. I think it was great, but for the first time, JK Rowling’s style of writing annoyed me. Like how Harry has to start out every sentence with “errr….” or “I dunno.” Just say it already for crying out loud! I also find her incredibly repetitive with the adjectives that she uses. But I’ll quit dissing on the book. It was good. I can always tell whether I liked a book by how depressed I am after I’m done reading it. I expect I might cry as I force myself to take in at least a page of my summer reading. I really want to read HP over again, but I know it will distract me, and I only have a good week left in which to do my summer reading, after you take out a week for band camp. Y’know, I find it a little disturbing that school is starting on August 11. Come on! It’s just really sad that I’m doing back to school shopping in July… the ultimate summer month.

Word to movies and cooking

My life has been like MovieFest 2003 lately. If I have nothing to do on a random day, I’ll call my friend Kelly, we’ll go to Hollywood Video, spend 1-2 hours picking out which movies to rent (we lack decision making skills), watch them, and then immediately make plans for another day to rent movies. I think we both agree that each of us needs to get a real social life, but neither of us tries. Well, there are worse ways to spend my time.

… and I’ve been cooking! My mother has been having a hectic couple of days, so I’ve been making dinner so she wouldn’t have to. Last night I made penne pasta with tomato sauce and shrimp. Good stuff. And earlier this evening I made mexican pizzas. We had a whole bunch of flour tortillas that were just sitting in our fridge, so I decided to make good use of them. I’m also planning a dinner for Sunday… penne rigato with chicken in alfredo sauce. Should be good.

… and I’ve been watching Who Wants to Marry My Dad? Sure, it’s just another lame reality TV show with desperate people searching for love and\or money… but his two sons are really, really hot! And the lie detector tests are HIGH-larious. I’ve been watching it with my younger sister, Audra… and we don’t really do much together as far as quality time goes, so I think this is good. Hmmmm, I need to find some more interesting things to post about.

Word to not caring

Ahhhhhh. I’m back. Well, sort of. For those of you that I emailed last week, you know that my computer is sucking big time. And my computer is still driving me up a wall, but I’m learning to make do. But when my mother, who is as computer illiterate as you could get, gets frustrated with the computer, you know something is wrong. The only solution I see happening is waiting two years to buy a new computer when I go off to college. Bleh.

But I’ve been doing lots of stuff despite of the slowwwwwwwwwww computer. I’ve updated the good ole sites. Redesigned one (and cloudyday.org), and even found the time to open a new site: Recommended Viewing, a site all about movie reviewage. Well, I’m off to gather my strength for when I post again!

Word not to America

Hmmm, I know this is the 4th of July and everything, but the US of A is a little too much these days, so I’m going to steer in the direction of another topic. And that’s summer homework. Is it necessary? I can understand maybe assigning one book, maybe two if the first one is short, but c’mon… it’s SUMMER! The whole point of summer is not having to do school work. It’s a much needed break, but this summer I feel as if I’m still in school. Essays, hundreds of vocabulary words to define, 4 books not including the two school textbooks I had to take home, the first 8 chapters in History, the first 2 chapters in Chemistry, motif charts, practice problems, you name it. This whole summer I’ve just felt as if I’m behind on everything. I feel guilty for sitting down and watching TV because I haven’t finished anything. This shouldn’t be what summer’s about. I should be able to take a nap in the middle of the day guilt-free. Well, now I feel even more behind for sitting here and posting, so I’m going to go work on my summer reading.

Word to being home

Well, I’m home. Let me tell you, kidnappers are pretty nice guys. I got to watch TV, eat whatever I wanted, and read Harry Potter. So all in all, I would say this has been the most pleasant kidnapping experience that I have had to date. And I look forward to working with these same criminals next time. Now that I’m home, I might update some of my sites, but I might not. My computer is s l o w. My brother says that I was spoiled using my sister’s computer yesterday. That could be the case. Well, that’s all kids.
