Word to an old standard

Oh sweet Jesus I have found it!I finally found it! Something I’ve been dreaming about since I was 7. Something everyone wishes they have found. And I have it! It’s the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. Yipee horay!

They’re crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. And after many years in my childhood spent eating ones that have burned on the bottom before the rest of the cookie was even done (sorry Mom… it wasn’t you, it was the recipe!), I finally get to enjoy great unburny homemade chocolate chip cookies.

So what’s the secret? Well, it’s definitely too big for me to come right out and post on here. And make no mistake, I did not come up with this myself. If you would like a copy of the recipe, just send me an email and soon you’ll be living burny-bottom free.

I also had another priceless Dad moment after I made the cookies. He had just gotten back from the gym and was walking up to take them. I yelled “Be careful! They’re delicious!”

word to Oliver

dinner.jpgI made dinner for my family tonight. (See picture). I marinated some chicken, baked some baby carrots, and made a salad. Without going into all the culinary details, I was pretty proud of myself. La familia seemed rather pleased as well.

As my dad was eating his chicken he said “Hmn, I can’t figure out what the other ingredient in this is… oh wait, could it be… love?”

But I cannot take all the credit. My dearest thanks go to Jamie Oliver for the recipe. (Though I did not actually cook my food naked… tehehehe).

Word to Everwood

everwood SPOILERALERT Last night was the series finale of Everwood. Which was a pretty sad thing, considering they were totally going to pick it up on The CW until they decided to bring back 7th Heaven after they already had a series finale. And they’re only bringing it back for 13 episodes? WTF? I could probably go on about how unfair this is all day, but I really did enjoy last night’s finale, which was appropriately titled “Foreverwood.”

Things that were awesome about the finale:

  1. great use of “Steady As We Go” by Dave Matthews Band.
  2. Uhh… like Ephramy 4-eva! I thought the whole renting a ferris wheel and putting it in front of his apartment was bit extreme… and also he totally would have noticed a giant ferris wheel before he went outside, but whatever…
  3. Delia got a horse! Pilot continuity!
  4. Andy going to visit Julia’s grave. Dude, I cried.
  5. Delia getting the complete collection of Gilmore Girls on DVD. Audra was actually the one who pointed this out to me.
  6. Bright telling Hannah to go to Notre Dame. (… but her decision to go to A&M anyways… not so awesome)

I still think the first episode of Everwood was one of the most impressive pilots of all time. And another one bites the dust. Die 7th Heaven… die!
