The Nightmare Before Christmas

Hey look everyone, it’s Halloween.  You know what’s the best part of Halloween?  The day after.  Yeah, that’s right.  Living it up on November 1st.  November 1st is the glorious day where you get to run to Target and buy lots and lots of candy for half off.  Yeah, I love candy and I have some food issues, but at least I can admit it.

November 1st is also the day where it’s only 3/4ths as socially unacceptable to be listening to Christmas music as it was the day before.  1/4th more socially acceptable… I’ll take that!  Bring on The Carpenter’s Christmas Portrait!

Despite my desire for Halloween to be over, I hope you all have a great one.  Don’t dress too slutty!

Comfortable seating

Like OMG hair curling!I was wasting some time on the internet just now trying to come up with a topic to post on when I came across this picture of my sister Audra and her friend Courtney. There are quite a few things of note in this picture, not the least of all is the rockin’ sweatshirt that Audra is wearing. But the sweatshirt is not my concern right now.

What is my concern? The suede La-Z-Boy recliner in which Audra is sitting. I am so jealous, OH SO JEALOUS. Not that I have any kind of money to just drop on a brand name recliner, or any recliner for that matter, but much to my chagrin I seem to be doomed to sit in university housing for the rest of the semester and the semester after that. The provided couch, if you can even call it that, seats one comfortably… but you have to lie down. Confusing, I know.

I really want to look into some alternative seating options, but at the end of the day do I really need to spend more time worrying about how I am going to physically relax while I watch television then I do worrying about classes or studying? Oh school, keeping me from the things that truly matter.

Nevermind me

Say “crack.” CRACK!
Say “crack” again. CRACK!

The above sums up my Monday evening.

I’m meeting with my advisor this week to discuss the possibility of graduating early. I know I’ve said this before, but I’m ready to move on from the college phase of my life.

Which house will they choose?

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again.  There’s nothing like a good episode of House Hunters.  Maybe I should just drop out of school and get my real estate license.  Alright, so the parents would probably not approve of that but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a perfectly decent backup plan pending my success in college.

Forgetful, Regretful

Over the past 2 days, I can only think of 1 thing that I did right.

I guess that’s better than no things right?

Forever in the Third Grade

This has been one of the most odd late summer/falls of my life. And the majority of this oddness can be attributed to the fact that I haven’t watched an episode of new fall TV. People who know me both online and real life should be gasping right about now. No fall TV? Sacreligious!

What I have been watching is television from other seasons, thanks to my NetFlix subscription. I just finished watching Wonderfalls, a recommendation from Richie. And I totally have a new crush. Because I’m in the 3rd grade. It’s Lee Pace. And yes, I know he’s on that “it” show right now, but I haven’t watched it yet. I’m just enjoying him as Aaron Tyler, thankyouverymuch.

Aaron Tyler
“But you just called me ‘delicious.’ How can you say no to delicious?”

See… cute, right? Don’t judge, the picture doesn’t do him justice. Now I’m probably going to have to buy the DVD set, but I think I’ll hold out until I get Christmas giftcards.

Heaven forbid YOU should be the one to call

I wish sometimes my friends would put as much effort into being my friend as I do into being theirs. I hate always being the planner, the initiator, etc. I usually only hear from people when I contact them first.

I write emails. I make 3-5 hour drives to see and visit. I call. I text. I message via internet social networking website.

And you know what else? I’m done. If you want me you know where to find me.

100 Movies in 2007: Shoot 'Em Up

Shoot 'Em UpI can’t say there was much substance behind Shoot ‘Em Up. The title pretty much says it all… just lots of shooting. I read online that the body count in this movie was 100, but that number seems a bit low to me.

There were some undeniably cool stunts and I can’t say I wasn’t entertained. And seeing Clive Owen face off with Paul Giamatti was fun to watch. But again, pretty much nothing else to this movie other than the action sequences.  If you really want to see this I’d wait for the rental.

50 down, 50 to go.

Academia

Two hours ago I saw my whole academic career flash before my eyes. I seriously did not know what I was going to do about it either. Thoughts of repeating a class, losing my scholarships, and having to actually pay for school were running through my head. It was not fun.

Thank goodness I was looking at last year’s syllabus. A-ha!

Mama, I'm Alright

Wuh-oh.Dear Mom,

Emma

P.S. I miss you Dad, Maura, Allen, and Audra too.
